#1 – From WVDNR – With 50,000 golden rainbow trout, 68 stockings and a chance to win a lifetime fishing license, the West Virginia Gold Rush is the fishing event of the year.

But with so many stockings to choose from, we understand that planning a trip can be a little intimidating. So to help you out, the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources has compiled a list of nine easy-to-access Gold Rush stocking locations where you can cast your line for a last minute trip.

Plan your fishing trip at a West Virginia state park or forest and you can also enjoy activities like hiking and biking -- not to mention awe-inspiring views.

#2 – From WOWK-TV – The Putnam County Development Authority recently held an open house for the WV FAME Program at Bridge Valley Community and Technical College.

The West Virginia Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education (WV FAME) is an apprenticeship program intended to drive workforce development initiatives across West Virginia.

The program offers a two-year associates degree in advanced manufacturing technology. Enrolled students will alternate their days between attending school and working at Toyota in Buffalo or the proposed Nucor Steel in Apple Grove. The education is free AND the students earn a paycheck while they’re going to school.

#3 – From THE TRAVEL – West Virginia is America's spookiest state, with haunted locations abound. From decimated asylums to haunted burial grounds, West Virginia is in no shortage of creepy locations. Yet, have you heard of the numerous hiking trails that will lead you to haunted ruins? If not, it's time you read up on West Virginia's most unnerving trails that take you to ghost towns and abandoned mining tunnels.

In the New River Gorge you can explore the remnants of coal mining towns like Royal, Kaymoor and Nuttalburg. At Coopers Rock State Forest, a hiking trail leads to the remains of an iron furnace from the 1800s. Bike the North Bend Rail Trail and brave the haunted Tunnel No. 19.
